Raúl Sánchez Francés

Raúl has a degree in Technical Forest Engineering and a Master´s degree in Research in Agroforestry Development Engineering from the University of Valladolid. He also has a Master of Advanced Studies from the Department of Economics, Sociology and Politics. He was a visiting researcher at the School of Environmental Sciences, University of Liverpool, UK.

From June 2005, Raúl has been working in the Agribusiness and Sustainable Processes Division of the CARTIF Foundation, as part of the research staff developing sustainable agronomical processes. He is also working to develop smart green solutions in agronomy (soils, fertilizers, waste use, etc.). Currently he is working in the Nature-based solutions sector as Coordinator of the H2020 URBAN GreenUP project: New methodology to develop re-naturing Urban Plans through nature-based solutions.

Raúl applies his expertise in the development of nature-based solutions in cities (green roofs, smarts soils, urban farms, green corridors, improvement of the landscape connectivity, actions against erosion and green well-being areas).
